A celebration of tradition. Our oyster stout is brewed with English hops, heritage malts, London Ale lll yeast with additions of fresh Rock Oysters from Maldon, Kent & specialist seaweeds from Car Y More, Wales.
This deep dark beer has a lightly roasted backbone, a silky mouthfeel and a very subtle salt finish. A beer to celebrate the coast, food and friendship made with London-based seafood restaurant friends Faber!
During the brewing process we add dried Irish Moss, fresh sugar kelp and dried Kombu, all hand harvested by Car Y More. The brew team used Irish Moss as a fining agent to drop out proteins in the kettle. A first for us here at UnBarred to use fresh picked Irish Moss in the brew.
This was a great project bringing together brewing, beer, food, chefs and producers to create a wonderful 5.5% Oyster Stout.
