Simple Things Fermentations Scottish Heavy

A malt-focused session ale and staple of traditional Scottish brewing, the Scottish Heavy AKA 70 Shilling, is a much-loved style that delivers crisp, well-balanced flavours with a clean fermentation profile.

We use Maris Otter and a range of specialist malts to create layers of dark sponge cake, brown sugar and dried fruit; East Kent Goldings hops, and a pinch of ground coriander bring light-touch earthy, floral notes with a moderate hop bitterness. Light and soft on the palate, but with depth and complexity and a long, satisfying finish.
