Brewery description
A cool beer with a cool story: Our great brewing inspiration, the region of "Franconia" in Germany, is in German referred to as "Franken". So this is a "Franken Pils".
Another more fun-times inspiration is the music of I Monster, (add link) a Sheffield-based electronic new wave psychedelic duo. They kindly agreed to collaborate with us on this beer, drawing the label and even invading the brewery to take over the brewday. (Add link) It's a Monster beer with a (Franken-style) Monster on the label!
So what you have here is a German pils, which generally means a dry, hoppy, pale lager with an assertive bitterness and lots of German hop character (in this case, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh). Alcohol is 5.4%. The beer was left to lager over winter in our cold, cold brewery, and was happy as a lark to do so. And now we are very happy to drink it!
