Epochal Of Myces and Men

This beer is our first opportunity to showcase the wonderful hops of Brook House in the context of our Scottish barrel fermented pale ales. Brook House take a great deal of care of their hops, both in the growing and the processing, which gives them a punch you’d be surprised by if you’re used to calling English hops ‘twiggy’. It pours a yellowed gold with a large, rocky head of foam. The aroma is musky, spicy, flecked with petals of peony and ripe pears. The palate is full but light and with a rich, chewily complex bitterness. To me, it’s a thrilling expression of these classic hop varieties and of what happens when they’re combined with complex wood fermentation.
